While BARBICIDE is an E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency) registered hospital disinfectant it is used for salon tools and also used by thousands of hairdressers throughout the world.
It is Germicidal, Fungicidal, Virucidal and Pseudomonacidal which Kills H.I.V. - 1 (A.I.D.S. Virus), hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus, herpes, ringworm, staph and numerous other pathogenic organisms. It is also used to disinfect scissors, combs, brushes and salon surfaces.
Metals can be immersed for hours without rusting. Barbicide makes a clear blue solution with a pleasant fragrance and is fully biodegradable. By using BARBICIDE the salon shows its understanding and commitment to using salon tools which have been disinfected minimizing all risk of cross infection from one client to the next.
However, it is also very harmful to your scissors!
Leaving your scissors sat in Barbicide can eat away at the metal in your scissors. It starts with the tension control screw or bolt because they are generally lower quality steel and moves on to the scissors themselves. Once the corrosion begins, it is the beginning of the end for your scissors.
Use it to disinfect, but make sure you only clean your scissors in warm soapy water and lubricate them with scissor oil before storing until your next use. |
